UK adds Ozon Bank and four other Russian banks to sanctions list

UK authorities have expanded their Russia sanctions package to include Ozon Bank, Center-Invest Bank, Realist Bank, Bank Stavr, and TelePort Bank. For high-risk payment teams, the key point is straightforward: banking relationships tied to sanctioned entities can become unusable fast, and the list now reaches into more names that touch payments and settlement.

1. The sanctions expansion also covers the vessels ARCTIC EXPRESS, ASTERAS, VISUND, ZENTURO, and TORVIAN, along with several legal entities and one individual.
2. The UK has been regularly widening its Russia sanctions list. In June 2026, it targeted the subsidiary banks of Yandex and Wildberries, as well as Rosgosstrakh and Eurofinance Mosnarbank.
3. In May 2026, the UK added 18 entries to the list, including 10 individuals and 8 organizations, citing involvement in “destabilization of Ukraine, recruitment of foreign citizens and UAV production.”

In February 2026, the UK imposed what it described as the largest anti-Russian sanctions package since the start of the fighting in Ukraine, covering 240 companies, including Transneft, subsidiaries of Gazprom and Rosatom, and 9 credit institutions, among them Post Bank, Tochka Bank, and Ak Bars Bank.
