PokerStars UK to move onto Betfair, Sky Bet and Paddy Power platforms from 13 August

PokerStars UK to move onto Betfair, Sky Bet and Paddy Power platforms from 13 August

Flutter Entertainment is making PokerStars the core poker product across its UK brands, starting with Betfair on 13 August and followed by Sky Bet and Paddy Power later this year. For PSPs and acquiring teams, the important part is not the branding exercise; it is the consolidation of liquidity, customer pools and checkout flows across one of Flutter’s biggest markets.

  1. Flutter says the PokerStars integration on Betfair will begin on 13 August, under the co-branded name PokerStars on Betfair. The existing PokerStars UK platform will remain live for now, but Flutter plans to migrate the brand and its customers fully onto the Betfair Casino platform over time.
  2. After Betfair, PokerStars will also be integrated into Sky Bet and Paddy Power later this year. On each brand, PokerStars will sit alongside the existing online casino products, with one pool of liquidity shared across all three brands and the wider .com network.
  3. The company says the point of the move is to improve liquidity by integrating PokerStars across multiple brands and creating a larger multinational player pool across the PokerStars Network (PSN). That is the part high-risk payment teams will care about: more centralized product architecture usually means more centralized payment routing, risk controls and operational dependencies.
  4. Flutter says it has already tested the model elsewhere: PokerStars has been integrated into FanDuel in the US and into Sisal and SNAI in Italy. The UK matters here because Flutter describes it as one of its biggest international markets and one of the top five biggest gambling sectors globally.
  5. The migration also lands during a leadership change at Flutter. Dan Taylor, currently Chief Executive Officer and President of International brands, whose remit has included UK&I operations, is due to replace long-serving Peter Jackson as Group CEO in October.

Kim Daly, Managing Director for Betfair, said the integration brings together “two iconic brands under one roof,” while Mike Woodbridge, Chief Commercial Officer at PokerStars, said the changes are meant to keep PokerStars as a core strategic brand within Flutter’s portfolio. In practical terms, the interesting bit is that Flutter is not treating PokerStars as a standalone poker site anymore; it is using it as a shared layer across casino, sports betting and poker in the UK.
