Florida seizes 239 slot machines and arrests 10 people in Lee County
Florida authorities have arrested ten people and seized 239 slot machines in raids on five Lee County venues on 27 October. For gambling operators and payment teams, the useful part is not the arcade drama; it is the scale of the cash and asset seizure, which is exactly the kind of enforcement action that can freeze flow through a business in a matter of hours.
- The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said the searches hit five locations: Royal on Palm Arcade and 77 Arcade in Fort Myers, King’s Paradise Arcade in North Fort Myers, Sneaky Pete’s Lucky 7 Arcade in Bonita Springs, and Spin City Arcade in Fort Myers.
- Authorities said the operation was backed by the Florida Gaming Control Commission and Pennsylvania law enforcement. Florida Gaming Control Commission Executive Director Alana Zimmer said the case followed months of preparation.
- Investigators confiscated US$715,272 in cash and US$661,454 in gold coins and bars, and froze US$383,573 in bank assets. That put the total value of reported financial assets at more than US$1.76m, before counting the ten vehicles seized.
- The vehicle haul included two Bentleys, a Mercedes-Benz, several Cadillacs and a 2026 Cadillac Escalade. For anyone running or servicing high-risk gaming exposure, this is the part that matters operationally: regulators and law enforcement are not only taking machines, but also moving directly against cash, stored value and bank balances.
- The ten people arrested were Dennis Martin, Ronald Longo, Timothy Fandry, Melissa Olarte, Dijela Ivezaj, William Holman, Debra Wolovlek, Angela Vittitoe, Harold Hauck Jr. and Stamena Gacevic. Florida authorities said the action was part of ongoing enforcement against unauthorised gambling businesses.
The Lee County action follows another FGCC operation in September, when authorities seized 163 illegal slot machines and US$247,285 in cash from two St. Petersburg businesses in Operation Final Spin. In that case, Action Arcade lost 90 machines and US$142,020, while The Zoo Sports Club and Grille lost 73 machines and US$105,265.
