Caixa Loterias and FEBRALOT discuss network modernization in São Paulo as BetCaixa stays on the agenda

Executives from Caixa Loterias and lottery operators from across Brazil met in São Paulo on August 20 and 21 for a two-day workshop on the sector’s challenges and outlook. For high-risk payments players, the relevant bit is simple: the conversation was not just about operations, but also about whether the lottery network should be part of the fixed-odds betting market via BetCaixa.

1. The workshop, titled “Conexão Loterias – A parceria que move o negócio”, brought together what the organizers described as the most representative business owners in the lottery segment. The format was presented as a working session focused on listening, practical exchange, and building paths to modernize and strengthen the network.

Ricardo Amado Costa, president of the Brazilian Federation of Lottery Companies (FEBRALOT), said the meeting created “frank and productive” dialogue between Caixa Loterias executives and lottery operators. He framed the network as a service layer that reaches millions of Brazilians across all regions of the country, with the added effect of creating jobs and moving local economies.
3. Elisa Miranda, coordinator of Digital Channels and User Experience projects at Caixa Loterias, said the lottery operator has a central role in the network’s transformation. In her words, the representative at the point of sale is the one close to the customer, understands day-to-day needs, and helps turn strategy into experience.
4. BetCaixa was the other thread running through the event. Costa repeated FEBRALOT’s position that if Brazil has a Bet category, the lottery network — whose origin is gaming — should not be left out of that market. The bank has not publicly confirmed a response on when, or whether, the fixed-odds betting product will start operating through its franchised lottery units.
5. Costa also thanked Renato Siqueira, president of Caixa Loterias, and Thays Cintra, director, for leading the meeting. In plain terms, the association is pressing for a broader role for the lottery channel, while Caixa has not yet shown its hand on BetCaixa.
