Bede Gaming secures GLI-19 and GLI-33 certifications for regulated igaming and sports betting

Bede Gaming has picked up GLI-19 and GLI-33 certifications, a useful checkbox for any platform vendor that wants regulators and operators to stop asking the same question twice. The standards matter because they are tied to market access in several jurisdictions, including the UK, Denmark, Malta, British Columbia, and a growing number of North American markets.

1. Bede Gaming says the two certifications were tested and certified by eCOGRA, an independent testing and certification authority in the gaming industry. The company presents the result as a new compliance benchmark for its platform and a sign that its technology meets internationally recognised technical standards.
2. GLI-19 covers Interactive Gaming Systems, including player account management, platform security, operational controls, game integrations, and the core technology needed for regulated online gaming. GLI-33 applies to Event Wagering Systems and sets technical requirements for sportsbook and online betting operations.
3. For Bede’s operator partners, the immediate value is not a trophy for the website. The company says the certifications should reduce friction in new market entry, support faster regulatory engagement, and add confidence when launching or expanding in jurisdictions that rely on GLI standards.
4. The certifications are especially relevant in North America. Bede says a large number of US states use the GLI framework as the standard for legal igaming operations, and recently opened Canadian provinces such as Alberta have adopted similar requirements.
5. The company says the audit behind the certifications was cross-functional and ran over several months. In practice, that usually means more than a paper exercise: operators and PSPs get a clearer signal that the platform has been tested against the sort of technical controls regulators actually care about.
