Webinar on 18 November: how responsible gambling is being built into product design
Responsible gambling is moving from a bolt-on compliance layer to a product issue, and that matters for operators, PSPs and suppliers that have to ship features regulators will actually accept. iGB’s live webinar on Wednesday 18 November at 1pm GMT will focus on how product, UX and tech teams can build safer gambling tools into the platform rather than patch them on later.
- As the source puts it, every design decision — from the layout of a bet slip to the timing of a deposit limit prompt — affects how safely a customer plays. The core argument of the webinar is that safer gambling tools are often added after the fact, when the better approach is to design them into the product from the start.
- The discussion will cover how regulators are tightening expectations on game design, affordability and customer interaction, and how AI is making real-time behavioural monitoring more practical. For operators and suppliers, that turns responsible gambling into a product requirement that can be tested, measured and improved like any other feature.
- The panel will look at where legacy sportsbook and casino design has fallen short, what UX and tech teams can do differently, and how operators can make safer gambling tools easier to find, easier to use and more effective. It will also cover the role of AI and real-time data in that workflow.
- Another focus is the commercial side: how to build tools that satisfy regulators, genuinely protect players and still make commercial sense. The webinar says it will lean on practical examples rather than theory, with the aim of giving operators and suppliers ideas they can take back to their product roadmaps.
- The panel will be moderated by iGB’s James Swann-Phillips and includes Jesper Karrbrink, CEO of Immense Group; Olabimpe Akingba, Head of Responsible Gambling, PawaTech, owners of betPawa; Richard Bayliss, Director of Product Compliance and Safer Gambling, PlayTech; Neil Burge, Founder of Growth Exposed; and Amanda Usher, Partner at Woods Whur.
In practice, this is the kind of conversation that matters when responsible gambling stops being a policy document and starts becoming a specification for product, UX and compliance teams across multiple markets.
