Visa adds stablecoin payouts and settlement account funding to Visa Direct through zerohash
Visa has partnered with infrastructure platform zerohash to expand Visa Direct with stablecoin payouts and settlement account funding for corporate clients. For high-risk PSPs, the practical point is simple: Visa is pushing digital asset settlement further into its mainstream cross-border rails, with 24/7 liquidity management now part of the pitch.
- Eligible Visa Direct clients can now fund settlement accounts and make payouts in stablecoins through the zerohash integration. Visa says this gives corporate clients a way to manage liquidity and conduct cross-border settlements using stablecoins around the clock.
- The setup also allows clients to pre-fund settlement accounts for stablecoin transactions and send payouts directly to recipients in digital assets. Visa says this should reduce transfer processing times and expand access to on-chain settlements.
- zerohash provides infrastructure for cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, and tokenized assets. The company operates across the EU, Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, and Bermuda, and holds licenses in 51 U.S. jurisdictions.
- Visa Direct reaches more than 18 billion bank accounts, payment cards, and digital wallets across 195 countries and territories. That scale matters because stablecoin functionality is being attached to a network that already sits in the middle of corporate payouts and settlement flows.
- Edward Woodford, founder and CEO of zerohash, said bringing stablecoin use cases onto a global payments network will accelerate adoption and help businesses manage liquidity more efficiently in international settlements. Mark Nelsen, Visa’s Global Head of Products, said the company continues to invest in expanding Visa Direct’s infrastructure and that the zerohash partnership will help scale stablecoin adoption while keeping compatibility with clients’ existing financial infrastructure.
Visa announced the integration of stablecoins into Visa Direct in September 2025, later expanded stablecoin support to allow payouts directly to recipients’ stablecoin wallets, and earlier named BVNK as the infrastructure provider for stablecoin payments on the Visa Direct platform.
