SBC Summit adds a Global Payment Compliance track to its 2026 agenda

SBC Summit adds a Global Payment Compliance track to its 2026 agenda

SBC Summit will add a dedicated Global Payment Compliance track to its Payment Expert Summit stage on Wednesday, 30 September, putting AML (anti-money laundering), fraud controls and regulatory expectations in the same room as the people who have to make payments work in practice. For operators and PSPs, the point is obvious: compliance is no longer a side discussion; it is part of the payment flow.

  1. The new track will bring together operators, compliance specialists, payment leaders, legal experts and technology providers to look at technologies, strategies and regulatory developments shaping modern payment compliance. SBC says the goal is to show how businesses can strengthen payments, combat threats and adapt to changing regulatory expectations.
  2. The Payment Expert Summit stage will run across three days: Fintech on Tuesday, 29 September; Global Payment Compliance on Wednesday, 30 September; and Crypto & Blockchain on Thursday, 1 October. In other words, payment compliance is being treated as its own workstream, not a footnote to broader payments coverage.
  3. SBC Founder and CEO Rasmus Sojmark said payment compliance has become “one of the industry's biggest balancing acts,” because operators are expected to strengthen fraud prevention, AML controls and regulatory oversight while still delivering fast payment journeys players expect. The practical tension is the one every high-risk merchant knows: controls that are too light create exposure, and controls that are too heavy create friction.
  4. The programme will include “AML in Motion: Continuous Monitoring in Modern Gaming,” with Luis Carlos Pérez (Chief AML Officer, Lottofy), Gintarė Wycherley (Senior Solutions Engineer, SEON), James Boyles (Director Player Experience, Evoke), Carmelo Mazza (CEO, Betaland/Enjoybet) and moderator George Rover (Managing Partner, Princeton Global Strategies). The session will focus on how automation and smarter risk detection can improve compliance without adding unnecessary player friction.
  5. Another session, “Cross-Border Compliance: Navigating AML Across African Markets,” will examine how operators can handle differing requirements across jurisdictions as mobile money and alternative payment methods continue to accelerate growth across Africa. Speakers include Maruf Lawal (COO, MOKO Afrika), Adenike Oyebamiji (Legal Compliance West Africa, Velex Group) and moderator Maleek Oyiza (Head of Legal & Compliance, Tradabets).

The track will also cover the privacy side of the same problem in “How Much Is Too Much Data?,” where James Myles (Head of Compliance, Dragonbet), Miguel Godinho (Senior Legal & Compliance Counsel, Betclic Group), Vana Demetriou (Chief Legal and Compliance Officer, ZENOBET) and moderator Jochen Biewer (Managing Director, Chevron Group) will discuss how operators can satisfy regulators without crossing evolving data protection lines.
