OKTO PAYMENTS connects directly to Yape to give merchants in Peru a higher-conversion payment stack

OKTO PAYMENTS has announced a direct integration with Yape, Peru’s leading digital wallet. For merchants in iGaming, e-commerce, digital content, and the creator economy, the point is not just technical cleanliness: a direct channel means fewer intermediaries, better approval performance, more accurate reconciliation, and lower servicing costs.

  1. Through a single API connection, OKTO PAYMENTS now offers both Yape One Shot and Yape On File to merchants. Yape One Shot lets users authorize one-time purchases on e-commerce platforms, payment gateways, and other digital merchants without entering additional codes or registering bank details. When Yape is selected at checkout, the Yape app opens automatically on the customer’s mobile device, and the transaction is approved with one tap.
  2. Yape On File is the recurring-payments flow. The wallet is securely linked once, and future payments are completed with a single click. For merchants with repeat deposits and repeat purchases, that is where conversion tends to compound: fewer steps on the second transaction, and less drop-off between intention and payment.
  3. OKTO PAYMENTS says the two flows cover the full customer lifecycle: acquiring new payers through the simplest possible entry point, then retaining and monetizing them with one-click payments. In practice, that is a useful split for high-volume merchants, where the economics of a first payment and a repeat payment are not the same thing.
  4. Yape has become one of the most important tools for financial inclusion in Peru. The wallet has 16 million active users and 7 million of them previously did not have a bank account. It has also moved beyond its original P2P role to become the preferred payment method for more than 5 million local businesses.
  5. OKTO PAYMENTS also positions itself as a payments infrastructure layer rather than a checkout widget. In Peru, its platform allows merchants to coordinate local collections and payouts through one integration, while also settling and managing treasury and liquidity in one place.
