Peru’s Indecopi orders DoradoBet to pay S/14,850 on five football bets and upholds a 3.49 UIT fine

Peru’s consumer watchdog has told DoradoBet to pay a user S/14,850 after finding that the operator wrongly voided five football bets that met the stated conditions. For PSPs and operators, the interesting bit is not the headline number; it is that the regulator reviewed the official match feed, overruled third-party stat sources, and treated the settlement decision as a service-quality failure.

  1. Indecopi confirmed that DoradoBet must pay S/14,850 to a consumer after finding that the company unjustifiably rejected the payout on five sports bets. The decision came from the Comisión de Protección al Consumidor N.° 2 in second and final administrative instance, through final Resolution N.° 2409-2026/CC2.
  2. The dispute came from a football bet placed on the match between Los Chancas CYC and Comerciantes Unidos. The consumer used Bet Builder, which lets a player combine different selections in the same match, and bet that Ayrthon Quintana of Los Chancas would record more than 2.5 shots, meaning at least three attempts on goal.
  3. DoradoBet treated the bets as losing positions, saying Quintana had only two shots and relying on data from ESPN, Sofascore and Flashscore. Indecopi reviewed the official Liga 1 MAX broadcast and concluded that the player made four shots, with the commission even identifying the minute of each one.
  4. Each of the five bets was for S/660 and each would have paid S/2,970, which is how the total payout reached S/14,850. Indecopi therefore ordered the operator to pay the winnings and upheld a 3.49 UIT fine, approximately S/19,195, for failing to provide an adequate service.
  5. The sanction was imposed on Interplay Word S.A.C., the operator of DoradoBet. The resolution ends the administrative process, but the company can still challenge it in court.
