Bulgaria extradites alleged organizer of payment service for BetWinner, 1xSlots, 22Bet, 777Royalty and FXBet to Israel
On 07 May 2026, Bulgarian border police flagged a passport scan at the Turkey-Bulgaria border with a Red Notice from the Interpol database, and the holder was later extradited to Israel. For high-risk payments people, the important part is simple: the case ties together payment facilitation, nominee companies, Israeli bank accounts, and iGaming/financial gambling flows.
- According to the Israeli prosecution, the detained man was Boris Alyushin, identified as the organizer of a payment service used for iGaming products including BetWinner, 1xSlots, 22Bet, 777Royalty, and the financial gambling product FXBet.
- The extradition followed an identification at the border crossing between Turkey and Bulgaria, where a Bulgarian border police officer saw the Interpol Red Notice on the screen during passport scanning. After that, additional documents arrived from Israel.
- Israeli authorities say the case is part of an operation codenamed "Russian Illusion", launched 7 years ago by Lahav 433, the elite Israeli police unit. The operation reportedly targeted a group of 4 people in total, with Alyushin described as leading the group.
- The prosecution says that since 2016 the group helped players from Israel make deposits using shell companies and accounts at Israeli banks Bank Hapoalim, Bank Leumi, and Bank Mizrahi-Tefahot. That is the detail PSPs will care about: not just merchant names, but the banking rails and account structures used underneath them.
- The charges listed against the suspects include organizing and running gambling, aggravated fraud, several tax-related offenses, and money laundering of criminal proceeds.
