Kambi Expands 4 Bears Casino Mobile Sports Betting in North Dakota Reservation Market
Kambi Group plc has added its player account management platform, or PAM, to its existing relationship with 4 Bears Casino & Lodge, owned by the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation in North Dakota. For high-risk operators, the interesting part is not the headline retail launch but the plumbing: account-based mobile wagering inside a tribal regulatory perimeter, with registration, identity checks, payments and responsible gaming handled in one stack.
- Kambi and 4 Bears Casino & Lodge first went live with an on-property sportsbook in March. The new agreement extends that setup into reservation-wide mobile sports betting for eligible customers located within the reservation.
- The mobile offer will run on Kambi’s proprietary PAM platform. In practice, that means the system is handling player registration, identity verification, account security, payment processing, responsible gambling controls and account management, instead of leaving those functions split across multiple vendors.
- For the casino, the move turns a retail sportsbook launch into a broader account-based betting product. Customers will be able to create accounts, manage balances and place sports wagers through a mobile platform, while still remaining within the geographic boundaries permitted by tribal gaming regulations.
- Kambi frames the deployment as part of the continued growth of tribal sports betting across the United States. The operational takeaway for PSPs and platform providers is straightforward: tribal betting expansion is increasingly a technology integration story, not just a sportsbook branding exercise.
The thing is, PAM is where a lot of the real risk management sits. Once a sportsbook moves from a counter or kiosk to account-based mobile wagering, the operator needs identity verification, transaction monitoring and responsible gaming controls to be wired into the same workflow. That is exactly the layer Kambi is selling here.
