EU sanctions Rosselkhozbank in its 21st package, alongside more than 80 Russian banks and payment firms
Rosselkhozbank has been added to the European Union’s 21st sanctions package, ending a previous carve-out that had left the bank out of earlier measures. For high-risk payment flows, the detail that matters is simple: the bank had been involved in servicing international deals for Russian grain and agricultural exports.
- Rosselkhozbank (RSHB) is now on the EU sanctions list. Until now, the EU had refrained from sanctioning it, despite its role in handling international transactions tied to Russian grain and agricultural product exports.
- The new package also covers more than 80 Russian banks, including
