Ebanx expands leadership team across Europe, Latin America, Asia-Pacific and Africa to stay closer to merchants

Brazil-based payments platform Ebanx has added and reshuffled senior roles across multiple regions, with the stated goal of putting executives closer to merchant headquarters and “high-growth operational markets.” For PSPs and high-risk merchants, the practical point is simple: Ebanx is organizing leadership around where processing, product, and commercial decisions actually need to happen.

  1. Co-Founder and CEO João Del Valle said the company wants leadership “close to the client and to the processing countries, where growth truly happens,” adding that the goal is to “decode complex, dynamic markets so global businesses can scale fast.” In other words, Ebanx is making regional execution part of the operating model, not an afterthought from headquarters.
  2. James Booth, formerly head of revenue for Verto, is now vice president of commercial for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In Latin America, José Maurício Orsolini Filho has been named vice president of product, replacing Eduardo de Abreu, who has been appointed chief product officer and regional CEO EBANX Singapore.
  3. At Ebanx’s Asia-Pacific headquarters in Singapore, Marcela Farima has been named director of merchant success, and Henrique Simião has become director of product. In China, Liqian Zhang was promoted to director of merchant success, with a stated focus on Chinese brands expanding around the world.
  4. In Uruguay, Juliana Etcheverry, formerly director of country growth for South LatAm, has taken the newly created role of director of issuer engagement and growth, while Javier Kaniewicz moves into her former position. In Brazil, Camila Alcalde joined as director of business development and engagement, working with global brands seeking to expand across Latin America.
  5. Other appointments include Wiza Jalakasi as commercial lead for Africa and the Middle East; Anderson Sato as director of staff and growth; Guillermo Miro as director of commercial excellence and revenue operations; Alexandre Amorim Silveira as director of operational excellence; Paulo Machado Simões as director of regulatory; Alain Delcourt as director of strategic channel partnerships; Leandro Magalhães as director of people operations; and Rafael Teixeira, promoted to director of information security.

Separately, Ebanx recently teamed with Pagaleve to let consumers in Brazil make buy now, pay later (BNPL) payments via Pix, the country’s instant payment system. The company said the integration combines Pagaleve’s risk engine, its global merchant network and Pix’s ubiquity to create “a truly open BNPL platform” for the Brazilian market.
