Truth Social and Crypto.com Drop Plans for TruthPredict, Pivot to a Marketing Deal
Trump Media and Technology Group has abandoned plans to launch Truth Predict, the prediction market project it had been building with Crypto.com’s derivatives arm, CDNA. For high-risk PSPs, the useful detail is not the branding drama; it is that the parties are backing away from operating the infrastructure and choosing distribution instead.
- The plan was announced in October 2025 and would have paired Truth Social with Crypto.com Derivatives North America (CDNA), a CFTC-registered exchange and clearinghouse. The idea was to create a prediction market platform under the Truth Social umbrella, with the two sides presenting it at the time as “the first-of-its-kind” partnership.
- That plan is now off. Trump Media and Crypto.com said they will not proceed with Truth Predict or with a digital asset treasury that was also part of the broader package. They cited “prevailing market conditions” and “shifting business and stakeholder priorities,” not regulatory pressure.
- Trump Media’s interim CEO, Kevin McGurn, said the prediction market space has become too crowded to justify running the infrastructure in-house. The company now prefers to act as a distribution and data partner rather than as an operator.
- Instead of a clean exit, the companies will pursue a marketing arrangement: Crypto.com’s existing prediction market products will be promoted to the Truth Social user base. In other words, Truth Social keeps the audience play, while Crypto.com keeps the regulated rails.
- When the project was first announced, the company said beta testing was expected before a national rollout. The original pitch was to compete with yes/no prediction markets such as Kalshi and Polymarket, which had already gained traction in the market.
Prediction markets have drawn pushback from local state officials and attorneys general, who argue they are trampling gaming regulations. The platforms themselves say they are federally regulated and do not constitute gambling — which is the kind of distinction that matters a lot when a PSP, exchange, or acquirer is deciding whether to touch the flow.
