GAT Brasil Launches and Announces the Latin American Responsible Gambling Congress for 2027
GAT Events has used its Brazil debut to frame the country as a market that is now moving from legalization to something operators and PSPs care about even more: investability. The launch also sets up a longer-term platform in Brazil and teases a Latin American Responsible Gambling Congress in 2027.
- At the official GAT Brasil launch in 2026, industry figures discussed Brazil’s regulatory progress 18 months after regulation and the practical question now sitting on the table: how to turn a legalized market into an investable one. Alex W. Pariente, Chair of the GAT Official Launch Brasil 2026 and Founder & Principal of Pariente Advisory, said the legal point was already achieved; the next step is whether regulation, enforcement, and legal certainty move together.
- The agenda for Thursday brought together national and international specialists to discuss Brazil’s gaming market, with topics including stronger regulation and supervision, the evolution of lotteries, sports integrity, prediction markets, the overlap between land-based and online gambling, responsible gambling, and the medium-term outlook for physical casinos in Brazil. For payment providers, that mix is a reminder that Brazil is no longer just a sports-betting story.
- One of the event’s main moments was the official presentation of the GAT Brasil Ambassadors, a group of industry leaders supporting GAT Events’ entry into the country and helping expand dialogue between the public and private sectors. World Gaming Business by Clarion Gaming joined as Official Media Partner.
- GAT Official Launch Brasil is backed by Pariente Advisory, Gaming Laboratories International (GLI), Gamanza, BetConstruct, Pay4Fun, and Smart Núcleo. José Aníbal Aguirre, Founder and CEO of GAT Events, said Brazil is strategically important to the global sector and that GAT wants to build a permanent platform there, both virtual and in-person, for knowledge-sharing, partnerships, business opportunities, training, analysis, education, and the control role that responsible gambling is expected to play.
- The launch also marked the announcement of the Latin American Responsible Gambling Congress for 2027, which fits neatly into the broader message coming out of the event: Brazil is being treated not as a one-off market entry, but as a long-duration regional hub for gaming policy, compliance, and commercial development.
For high-risk payment teams, the useful signal is simple enough: Brazil is being discussed in terms of regulatory depth, enforcement, and legal certainty, not just demand. That is usually the point where PSPs, acquirers, and bank partners start asking more precise questions about risk, product scope, and whether a market is becoming worth the operational headache.
