SINDIBETS-SP Seeks Transitional Measures to Limit the Impact of MP nº 1.394/2026 on Jobs and Companies

SINDIBETS-SP says it is working with the workers’ union to negotiate temporary measures that could preserve jobs and give betting-sector companies legal certainty as they deal with Medida Provisória nº 1.394/2026. For high-risk operators and their payment partners, the point is straightforward: regulatory shocks rarely stay confined to the legal department — they quickly become staffing, cash flow, and continuity problems.

  1. SINDIBETS-SP, the employer association, said it is taking steps to represent the sector in talks with the workers’ union to build alternatives that reduce the impact of MP nº 1.394/2026 on companies and professionals in the sector.
  2. The association said its main goal is to create conditions for companies and employees to pass through this period with legal certainty and, whenever possible, keep existing jobs in place.
  3. The negotiations will look at transitional and alternative measures that could give companies more predictability and time to absorb the effects of the MP. If further layoffs become unavoidable, SINDIBETS-SP said it will push for them to be handled responsibly and transparently, within the limits of the law and any instruments agreed jointly.
  4. Any measures would be voluntary and available only to companies that choose to join the negotiated instruments. SINDIBETS-SP said it will keep companies informed as the talks progress and will communicate proposals, developments, and other relevant updates as they emerge.
  5. The association said it will continue working to protect sector professionals and help companies find legitimate and secure mechanisms to get through the period of uncertainty.
