PF says Banco Master owner Daniel Vorcaro held PixBet and 25% of Atlético Mineiro’s SAF
Brazil’s Federal Police has identified messages in which an aide to Daniel Vorcaro, the owner of Banco Master, says the banker owns PixBet and 25% of the Sociedade Anônima do Futebol (SAF) that controls Atlético Mineiro. For PSPs and acquirers, the point is not the football side of the story; it is that the same name keeps turning up across banking, betting, and club ownership in an investigation already tied to alleged multibillion-real fraud.
- According to the report by Veja, the messages are part of the Federal Police inquiries into alleged multibillion-real fraud linked to Banco Master and Vorcaro’s dealings with Republic authorities. Investigators say the reference to the “boss in São Paulo” in an audio message dated 3 October 2024 is Daniel Vorcaro.
- In that audio, Marilson Roseno da Silva, a former Federal Police clerk identified in the investigation as part of a group called “A Turma,” says PixBet belongs to the “boss from São Paulo” and that the same person holds 25% of Atlético Mineiro. He adds that the sponsorship “will change there” and that it may become PixBet again next year. When asked who the boss was, he replied: “It’s Daniel Vorcaro, man, who bought 25% there. It’s the SAF.”
- The investigators also link “Mexirica” in the chat to Felipe Mourão in Minas Gerais, also known as “Sicário,” whom they describe as an ally of Vorcaro in the Banco Master frauds. In the PF’s account, “A Turma” was responsible for monitoring and intimidating Vorcaro’s opponents.
- Separately, police found messages from Vorcaro’s phone showing he worked to secure VIP tickets for the children of Supreme Federal Court (STF) Justice Alexandre de Moraes to attend Atlético Mineiro’s match against Grêmio at Arena MRV in mid-May 2024. The PF says this adds to the picture of proximity between the banker and the justice.
- The same investigation notes that Alexandre de Moraes is under scrutiny in the case because his wife’s law firm signed a R$ 131 million contract to provide services to Vorcaro. In November 2025, Atlético Mineiro said Vorcaro was removed from the SAF that runs the club, citing “facts of public knowledge” that created obstacles to the regular exercise of his functions.
For high-risk payments players, the practical takeaway is straightforward: when a banker, a betting brand, and a football club equity stake all sit inside the same investigative file, counterparties will start asking harder questions about source of funds, ownership, and who actually sits behind the commercial relationships.
