Blokotech’s Alberto Alfieri says Mexico and the rest of Latin America are the company’s growth focus after SIGMA North America in Mexico City

Blokotech co-founder Alberto Alfieri said the company’s main growth focus is Mexico and the rest of Latin America, following its presence at SIGMA North America in Mexico City. For high-risk operators and their payment partners, the useful part is not the conference fluff: Blokotech is hearing demand for fast integrations, flexible solutions, and providers who understand the commercial constraints behind the technical brief.

  1. Alfieri said SIGMA North America was “a very positive experience” because Blokotech reconnected with clients and partners, discussed how their businesses are evolving, and met new projects. He added that part of the value of these events is the face-to-face format, which gives more room to understand what each party needs and where Blokotech can contribute.
  2. Blokotech received the Best Casino Platform 2026 award at the event. Alfieri described it as recognition of the team’s work and of the evolution of the company’s technology. He also highlighted the Mexico Padel Rally as a useful setting for more informal industry contact, saying that this kind of personal interaction helps build the trust that later supports professional relationships.
  3. According to Alfieri, the most interesting conversations were about concrete business needs: operators looking to open another market, new casino and sportsbook projects, and content and technology integrations to expand an existing offering. He also said Blokotech spoke with potential partners that could complement its proposition in the region.
  4. Alfieri said his experience on the operator side shapes how Blokotech approaches those conversations. In his view, a technical request usually sits behind a commercial need, a cost issue, or an opportunity that depends on getting to market on time, so the company starts by understanding that before discussing features. He said there is demand for solutions that are flexible and quick to implement, but also for a provider that understands the specifics of each operation.
  5. Mexico matters to Blokotech because of the size of the market and the opportunity to work with operators developing their product, Alfieri said. He added that the country’s position as a meeting point between North America and Latin America also adds value, while Blokotech sees it as a market in its own right. The company already works with operators in different Latin American countries, and that experience has directly shaped its platform around payments, integrations, and management needs.

For PSPs and payment teams serving casino and sportsbook operators, the subtext is straightforward: Latin America’s operators are still shopping for speed, adaptability, and partners who can handle local operational differences without turning every integration into a six-month project. Blokotech is signaling that this is exactly where it wants to play.
