Polygon Labs extends Open Money Stack to Solana for stablecoin payment flows

Polygon Labs has expanded its Open Money Stack platform to the Solana network, giving businesses one integration for moving money from bank accounts into crypto, across networks, and back out to customers and suppliers. For high-risk merchants and PSPs, the point is not the chain itself; it is the plumbing around it.

  1. Open Money Stack is Polygon Labs’ integrated infrastructure for companies building stablecoin-powered payment products. Through a single API, businesses can access fiat on- and off-ramps, programmable accounts, embedded wallets, custody, settlement, currency conversion, payouts and cross-chain capabilities.
  2. The stack is meant to cover the full path of a stablecoin transaction: getting money onchain, holding and moving it securely, converting it into the currency the recipient needs, and delivering it into the existing financial system. Companies can use the full stack or plug in individual components alongside their existing providers.
  3. Polygon says Solana support lets a company building on the network connect funding, accounts, wallets, cross-chain routing and payouts through one technical connection and one commercial relationship. Supported funding routes include bank, card, cash and crypto, and the stack can route balances across Polygon, Ethereum, TRON and other EVM chains.
  4. Among the first customers adopting Solana through Open Money Stack is Kira, a service that connects U.S. banking accounts with stablecoins for cross-border businesses. Polygon also gave remittance and marketplace examples: a remittance provider could take dollars from a sender’s bank account, deliver USDC on Solana and pay out to a supported bank route, while a marketplace could receive stablecoin payments on Solana and pay sellers into wallets or local-currency payout routes.
  5. Sandeep Nailwal, co-founder and CEO of Polygon Foundation, said the integration addresses “connecting them to the accounts and payment systems its customers already use,” while Vibhu Norby, Chief Product Officer at Solana Foundation, said Solana has processed more than $5 trillion in stablecoin volume in 2026 alone. He added that connecting Solana to bank accounts, wallets and global payout networks helps businesses deliver stablecoin payments to more customers and markets.

The practical takeaway for PSPs is straightforward: Polygon is packaging stablecoin payments as an account-to-payout stack, not just a chain integration. That matters because the hard part in these flows is usually the handoff between bank rails, wallets, conversion, and settlement — the bit that turns a crypto transfer into an actual payment operation.
