Daniel Vorcaro’s defense submits revised plea deal draft as investigators ask for more time in Brasília
According to TV Globo, Daniel Vorcaro’s lawyer added to the document filed on Tuesday (2), and a new meeting scheduled for Wednesday (3) was canceled after investigators asked for more time to review it. For payment and banking people watching the Master case, the detail that matters is simple: the plea discussions are still live, but the authorities are not treating the first draft as enough.
- Investigators said the material submitted by Vorcaro’s defense added little to what the Federal Police (PF) had already gathered, and their reading was that Vorcaro was acting to protect people close to him.
- The PF has seized more than eight of Vorcaro’s phones, and the initial forensic review of part of that material reportedly suggests the scheme around the banker goes beyond financial fraud, touching corruption, criminal organization, and the use of a private militia to attack opponents and access confidential data.
- Vorcaro was moved last month, again at the PF’s request, to a regular cell at the Federal Police Superintendency in Brasília, where he is subject to PF internal rules, including the procedures for lawyer visits.
- Before that, he was held in a “sala de Estado-maior” type room, the same space used to hold former president Jair Bolsonaro between November 2025 and January this year. Vorcaro had been transferred on March 19 from the Brasília Federal Penitentiary to the PF Superintendency in the capital.
- The plea process started the day before that transfer, when Vorcaro’s lawyer contacted the PF to say the banker was interested in a plea bargain. Vorcaro signed the confidentiality agreement that same day, and in early May his defense finalized the plea annexes and delivered the material to authorities on a pen drive.
- On May 22, people close to the banker told the blog he had agreed to raise the amount to be returned if a collaboration agreement is reached with the Procurator General’s Office (PGR) from R$ 40 billion to R$ 60 billion. The PF rejected the proposal, but the PGR kept the talks going, while also telling Vorcaro’s lawyers that the draft of the plea narrative would need to be rewritten in addition to the higher repayment figure.
