Oddsgate to host September 23 webinar on Brazil’s changing iGaming regulation

Oddsgate is holding a free webinar on September 23 at 7:00 PM São Paulo time to unpack the latest regulatory moves in Brazilian fixed-odds betting and iGaming. For operators, PSPs, tech vendors, and compliance teams, the point is straightforward: the rules are moving, and they affect platform design, game certification, and supplier contracts.

  1. The session is titled “Regulation in Progress: What is Changing in Brazilian iGaming” and is positioned as a market briefing on current regulatory developments and their practical impact. Oddsgate says the discussion will bring together professionals from across the sector to look at how the next wave of rules could shape business decisions in Brazil.
  2. One of the main items on the agenda is the update to Ordinance SPA/MF No. 827/2024, which covers authorisation rules for operating fixed-odds betting. That update is currently under public consultation, so the market is still dealing with a moving target rather than a finished rulebook.
  3. Oddsgate also points to preliminary details shared by the Ministry of Finance’s Secretary of Prizes and Betting (SPA/MF) with the National Association of Legal Games (ANJL) about a future interministerial ordinance. According to the text, that future rule would focus on platform design, user experience (UX), and online game certification.
  4. The practical angle matters here. The webinar is set to focus on four pillars: platforms, games, players, and contracts/suppliers. In other words, it is not just about legal theory; it is about how the regulatory direction changes product specs, onboarding flows, game content, and the way supplier agreements are written.
  5. Specific features expected to come up include countdown timers, pre-filled wager amounts, autoplay, speed-up features, and minimum round times. Those are the kinds of UX details that often look minor on paper and then become central when regulators start asking how betting products are actually presented to players.

For high-risk operators and payment partners, the useful signal is that Brazil is no longer just setting the broad authorisation framework. The regulator is also moving toward product-level standards, which means commercial, compliance, and technical teams will need to read the market one layer deeper than before.
