Guillermo Bejarano Says iGaming in Latin America Has Moved Into “Dynamic Compliance,” Faster Betting, and Instant Payments

At LiGA Summit 2026 in Lima on September 17 and 18, BetConstruct’s Regional Director Guillermo Bejarano described a Latin American iGaming market where the old playbook is no longer enough. For operators and PSPs, the message is straightforward: regulatory agility, transaction speed, and payment flows that can keep up with player expectations are now part of the same problem.

  1. Bejarano said the region has moved beyond the stage of simply obtaining a license and posting a guarantee. In Peru, he said, that phase “ended two years ago,” and the new requirement is Dynamic Compliance — the ability to adjust quickly as regulatory and tax rules change.
  2. He pointed to Peru, Colombia, Brazil and Chile as examples of markets where regulatory frameworks continue to evolve. For operators and suppliers, the practical takeaway is that compliance can no longer be treated as a one-time launch task; it has to be built for ongoing change.
  3. Bejarano linked player behavior to the rise of microbetting, simultaneous betting, and participation across multiple leagues and events at the same time. His point was blunt: if a platform is not fast, it will struggle to answer the demands of these users.
  4. That speed problem is not just about front-end UX. He said the underlying infrastructure has to process transaction volume and transaction speed efficiently, because if it cannot, the user experience suffers across the board.
  5. He also highlighted instant payments and the evolution of cashout, tying both to efficient payment systems and KYC processes that can keep pace with faster deposits and withdrawals. In other words: if cash-in and cash-out are slow, the market notices, and it notices immediately.

Bejarano’s broader point was that Latin American iGaming is being shaped by three pressures at once: regulatory churn, faster betting behavior, and payment expectations that now treat speed as part of the product, not a back-office detail.
