Ukraine regulator fines Slots UA $96,500 for third-party balance top-ups and $9,600 for failing to fix prior violations
Ukraine’s gambling regulator has fined Slots UA $96,500 for allowing game balances to be topped up by third parties, and another $9,600 for not correcting earlier violations. For PSPs and acquirers, the useful bit is simple: this is the kind of control failure that turns into a licensing and settlement problem fast.
- The main penalty, $96,500, was issued for allowing deposits to a gaming balance by third parties. In payment terms, that is a straightforward red flag: the funding source and the account holder are not the same person, which is exactly the sort of mismatch high-risk operators are expected to block.
- The regulator also imposed a separate $9,600 fine for failing to eliminate previous violations. That matters because repeat findings usually stop being treated as isolated operational slips and start looking like a control environment problem.
- The case was posted by @playcityukr, the Telegram channel of the Ukrainian regulator.
