Thailand police raid Bangkok luxury condominium, detain 10 South Korean nationals tied to offshore iGaming operations

Thai police raided an elite condominium in Bangkok and detained 10 South Korean nationals who were allegedly involved in the offshore iGaming products BlackBet and RedBet, which accepted players from that GEO. The group is now being prepared for deportation to South Korea, while separate arrests across Thailand targeted local gambling agents working on other iGaming brands.

  1. According to the report, the Bangkok raid was part of a wider enforcement push that also led to arrests in different parts of the country. Those detained were linked to BlackBet and RedBet, both described as offshore iGaming products serving players from the relevant GEO.
  2. Thai authorities also detained local gambling agents working for iGaming products MAXBULL789, BLACKBULL789, REDBULL789, whanmoo88, and SBOBET, which was described as a major Asia-targeted brand.
  3. The key operating risk, as stated in the source, is that in Thailand it does not matter whether a person is involved in taking players from TH or from other GEOs. The report says the authorities treat both cases the same for enforcement purposes.
  4. The source also notes that online-business conferences in Thailand, including Affiliate World Asia and others, have terms and conditions that explicitly have no connection to the iGaming business. Even displaying iGaming brand symbols from other GEOs can create problems.
  5. For operators and affiliates, the practical takeaway is simple: anyone attending these events as an iGaming representative, or sending staff there, assumes the full risk themselves. In a market where venue presence, branding, and local contacts can trigger enforcement, that is not the sort of jurisdiction where loose assumptions pay well.
