Corinthians looks for a master sponsor and may use one-off shirt deals through the end of the Brasileirão
Corinthians is exploring different ways to fill the master sponsorship spot on its match shirt through the end of the Brazilian league season, including short-term, game-by-game deals. For payment providers, the relevant part is simpler: the club’s shirt inventory is becoming more flexible, while the existing master sponsor situation remains unresolved.
- The club has not yet set a final price, but it is already in the market looking for one-off sponsorships. The amount will vary by match, with TV exposure split between free-to-air and pay TV taken into account.
- The report on these spot sponsorships came from journalist Marcelo Braga and was confirmed by ge. In other words, this is not just internal chatter; Corinthians is actively testing commercial alternatives for the remainder of the season.
- There is still no decision on whether Esportes da Sorte will remain Corinthians’ master sponsor. That matters because the current contract runs until December 2029, but the company had already notified the club before President Lula’s announcement that it could be blocked from operating.
- A Federal Government Provisional Measure bans online casinos and fixed-odds betting companies, the so-called bets, from operating in Brazil. The measure takes effect on October 6 and also prohibits advertising by these companies.
- Corinthians has 10 rounds left in the Brasileirão. The team under Fernando Diniz is 14th with 32 points, three above Grêmio, which currently sits in the relegation zone. The club is also suspending payment of its Arena debt.
There is one more wrinkle: a preliminary injunction has already barred Corinthians from displaying the brand and gave it 15 days to remove it from uniforms, sports spaces, digital channels, and other areas. For sponsors in high-risk verticals, that is the practical reminder here — even a long contract does not help much if the operating and advertising rules change underneath it.
