Stable.com connects Polygon wallets to bank transfers without moving funds into custody
Stable.com, the financial platform operated by Unlimit, has connected to Polygon Open Money Stack so holders of USDT and PayPal USD (PYUSD) on Polygon can initiate bank transfers directly from their own wallets. For high-risk operators and PSPs, the key point is simple: stablecoin-to-bank flows do not have to start with a custodial handoff anymore.
- The integration lets Polygon users keep custody of their assets until the transfer is processed. In the usual model, stablecoin-to-bank services require users to send tokens to the platform first, where they are converted into fiat before being sent to a bank account. Stable.com’s setup skips that intermediate custody step.
- Stable.com says the transfer flow taps into Unlimit’s global payment network, which reaches more than 180 countries and supports payouts in more than 150 currencies. That gives self-custodied stablecoin holders access to traditional bank rails without first migrating funds into a platform-controlled account.
- The platform already operates as a single global account with local payment details, combining multi-currency balances, card issuance and treasury tools with access to tokenised assets and non-custodial DeFi across multiple blockchain networks. The Polygon connection extends that model to self-custodied wallets rather than only accounts already held inside Stable.com.
- Polygon Open Money Stack is the infrastructure layer behind the integration. Polygon describes it as a stack that combines blockchain settlement, fiat on and off-ramps, embedded wallets and cross-chain orchestration in one system. Polygon also says its network has processed more than eight billion cumulative transactions.
- Marc Boiron, chief executive of Polygon Labs, said the setup gives USDT and PYUSD holders a direct route from Polygon wallets to payment systems people already use. Kirill Eves, founder and chief executive of Unlimit, said the company’s aim is one place to manage money across currencies, accounts and blockchain networks without users having to navigate the underlying infrastructure.
For PSPs and acquiring teams, the operational detail worth watching is that Stable.com is positioning onchain assets as a source of payment flow without forcing wallet holders into custody first. That is the part that changes how these flows are routed, controlled and underwritten.
