Anonymous source says a major iGaming platform is considering a full exit from the DE market soon

An anonymous source told us that one of the larger iGaming platforms is looking at a complete shutdown of its DE market operations in the near term. For PSPs, acquirers, and banking partners, the only real takeaway here is straightforward: if you touch German traffic, you should be prepared for a change in volume.

  1. The source says the platform is considering a full exit from DE, not just a partial restriction or product tweak. That matters operationally, because a full market closure usually means affiliate links, player acquisition, and payment routing all need to be unwound, not just adjusted.
  2. It is not known whether the move is connected to the scandal around the Curaçao regulator, CGA, or to the case in Frankfurt. The source did not provide a confirmed link, so there is no basis for treating either one as the trigger.
  3. The same source warned that affiliates should be ready for the change. In practice, that means anyone dependent on German traffic should already be thinking about redirect plans, campaign pauses, and what happens to conversion if the market is cut off.
