Brazil offshore brands’ share tripled in four days after the betting ban, Blask data show

Blask says Brazil, the biggest iGaming market by user demand among the 142 countries it tracks, saw the first measurable fallout from the online betting ban. The immediate effect was a sharp jump in offshore demand and a fast collapse in the regulated affiliate channel.

  1. Since the regulated market launched on 1 January 2025 and through 24 September 2026, offshore brands averaged 3.9% of demand by the Blask Index. The day before the ban was announced, the figure was 3.4%; by 29 September it had risen to 9.9%, the highest level since the regulated market began.
  2. Brmkt(.)co founder Ricardu Bianku Rozada expects more players to move into the unlicensed segment after licensed sites are switched off on 6 October. His point is simple: the illegal market was already there, operating alongside the legal one for two years. The ban does not create it; it hands it another 30 million customers who had previously been visible on licensed platforms.
  3. The ad side took the hit as well. On 29 September, the combined reach of the 20 most promoted brands among affiliates fell to 418 websites from 715 a week earlier, a drop of 41.5%. Reach declined for every brand in that group.
  4. bet365 was hit hardest. In August it was the most promoted brand, but its affiliate reach fell from 60 to 31 partner websites. Brazino777, Novibet, and Sportingbet followed. Stake became the most promoted brand, although its reach also dropped from 51 to 38 websites. Betano, the market leader by user demand, saw its affiliate reach shrink from 48 to 33 websites.
  5. Smart Social CEO Luis Felipe Correia de Almeida said the measure bans affiliate links, sponsored posts, and sportsbook bonus codes in Brazil, regardless of the affiliate payout model. Affiliates that depend entirely on Brazilian traffic are under the most pressure, because continued targeting of Brazilian users through alternative channels can trigger fines of up to 10% of group turnover.
