PXP partners with OKTO PAYMENTS to add locally operated Latin American payment rails
PXP has signed a strategic partnership with OKTO PAYMENTS to give its merchant base access to domestic payment methods, instant pay-ins and payouts, and treasury and liquidity management across LatAm. For high-risk merchants, the point is simple: one connection now reaches local rails operated by OKTO in markets where approval rates, settlement speed and compliance handling can decide whether a vertical can scale.
- PXP says it processes more than €35 billion annually and has built its proposition around one connection into online, mobile and point-of-sale commerce, supported by in-house acquiring and a broad alternative payment method portfolio.
- Through the new partnership, PXP merchants can use domestic payment methods and infrastructure that are connected directly to local rails and operated by OKTO in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Argentina and beyond.
- The setup is not limited to acceptance. PXP says the offering includes instant pay-ins and payouts on domestic rails, local card processing, advanced treasury and liquidity management, and settlement in a single layer.
- OKTO says it processes instant payments for more than 40 international and local merchants, with a total processed volume run rate of €17 billion+ annually, across ecommerce, iGaming, FX and trading, digital content and the creator economy.
- For OKTO, the deal opens access to PXP’s enterprise merchant portfolio across retail, travel and hospitality, gaming and other digital commerce sectors. Andre Boesing, general manager South LatAm at OKTO PAYMENTS, said Latin America requires local banking relationships, local compliance capability and market-by-market payment logic, and said the partnership combines that with instant domestic rails, treasury and liquidity management, settlement and reconciliation in one layer.
For PSPs and acquirers, the useful part here is the operating model: OKTO is not describing a single LatAm stack, but local depth built market by market. That matters in regions where the regulator, banking system, settlement logic and consumer payment preferences change from country to country.
