Apex Fintech Solutions to Route Crypto Event Contracts Through Gemini Titan

Gemini Space Station has signed a letter of intent with Apex Fintech Solutions that would make Gemini Titan the exclusive regulated venue for crypto event contracts distributed through Apex’s Futures Commission Merchant (FCM) to brokerage customers. In practice, that gives Apex a regulated execution-and-clearing path for this product, while Gemini gets a larger distribution pipe.

  1. Under the proposed setup, all brokerages offering crypto event contracts through Apex’s FCM would use Gemini for execution and clearing. The announcement says this would make Gemini the regulated venue for crypto-based prediction markets accessed through Apex.
  2. The deal is not limited to crypto. Gemini said the arrangement should also give Apex more flexibility to work with firms focused on other prediction market categories, including sports, economics, and finance.
  3. The timing fits Gemini’s recent licensing push. Gemini Olympus recently secured a CFTC Derivatives Clearing Organization (DCO) license, which enabled in-house derivatives clearing and settlement for Gemini Titan. Last year, Gemini Titan was also named a Designated Contract Market (DCM) after receiving a CFTC license, opening the door to the prediction markets business.
  4. Tyler Winklevoss, CEO of Gemini, said the partnership matches the company’s “in-house philosophy.” He said Gemini built its predictions platform in-house and wants to expand access to partners like Apex as demand for event contracts grows.
  5. Travis McGhee, Apex Fintech Solutions’ global head of digital markets, framed the deal as a way to connect traditional finance with “what’s next,” adding that Apex’s model gives brokerage clients regulated access to crypto event contracts without having to build the infrastructure themselves.

The two companies said the agreement is not yet finalized and that more details will follow. For PSPs, brokers, and venue operators watching the event-contracts space, the useful bit is straightforward: Gemini is trying to own both the regulated venue and the clearing stack, while Apex is packaging distribution for brokerage clients.
