Open Standard launches OUSD corporate dollar stablecoin on Base, Ethereum, Solana, and Tempo

Open Standard has launched Open USD (OUSD), a U.S. dollar stablecoin aimed at corporate settlements, cross-border payments, banking services, and institutional trading. For PSPs and high-risk merchants, the useful part is not the branding; it is that OUSD is being wired into payment and financial-service rails through major names that already sit inside the money stack.

  1. OUSD is now available to corporate clients and developers for integration into payment and financial services, and Open Standard says it is live on the Base, Ethereum, Solana, and Tempo blockchain networks. The asset is designed for corporate settlements, cross-border payments, banking services, and institutional trading.
  2. Open Standard first planned the launch in July 2026, when more than 140 companies backed the initiative. By launch, the partner network had expanded to more than 200 financial institutions, banks, FinTech companies, and multinational corporations.
  3. Founding members including Coinbase, Mastercard, Shopify, Stripe, and Visa committed more than $1 billion in initial liquidity for OUSD. That matters because a corporate stablecoin without liquidity is just a PDF with a ticker.
  4. OUSD is issued by Bridge, a Stripe-owned company. Its reserves are held with BlackRock, Lead Bank, and BNY, and reserve attestations are expected to be published monthly. The issuance and reserve setup are the parts payment teams and banks will actually care about when deciding whether to touch it.
  5. Businesses and developers can integrate OUSD through 4 channels: Coinbase, Mastercard, Stripe, and Visa. The relevant APIs and tools cover settlements, payment orchestration, trading and foreign exchange transactions, deposits and withdrawals, wallets, card products, and other services.

OUSD integration is already available through BVNK, Stripe, and Visa Stablecoin Platform (VSP). All options allow users to mint and redeem the stablecoin at a 1:1 rate against the U.S. dollar with no fees, and the asset is also supported by centralized and decentralized trading platforms. Open Standard says OUSD was initially made available on Coinbase, Kraken, and Uniswap, with plans to gradually expand the list of supported platforms.

Open Standard’s economic model distributes rewards among partners based on the amount of OUSD and the activity they generate on their platforms, and ecosystem participants can also receive an ownership stake in Open Standard. In 2026, AllUnity, SoFi, Revolut, Western Union, Zelle, and Tetra Digital Group also launched corporate-use stablecoins, as did Crédit Agricole, SBI Group, and the Wyoming state government.
