Chile orders ISPs to block 37 new online gambling domains

Chile’s Subsecretaría de Telecomunicaciones (Subtel) has told major internet providers to block access to 37 more domains tied to online betting and gambling platforms. For high-risk operators and PSPs, the point is simple: the enforcement scope now extends beyond a brand’s main domain to mirror sites, redirects, and alternate web addresses.

1. On Monday, September 21, Subtel notified Chile’s main internet providers — Entel, Movistar, Claro, GTD, WOM, and VTR — that they must block the new list within 48 hours of receiving the notice.
2. The order follows resolutions from the Supreme Court and the Santiago Court of Appeals, which established a procedure for restricting access to betting sites operating without authorization in Chile.
3. The list was validated by the Superintendencia de Casinos de Juego (SCJ), the body responsible for checking that the identified domains actually belong to online betting or gambling platforms.
4. The 37 domains include domain names, subdomains, and mirror sites linked to sports betting and online gaming brands such as Betano, Betsson, Rojabet, Estelarbet, Betcris, KTO Bet, 1xBet, Juega en Línea Chile, Marathonbet, Betway, Betfair, Betsala, Bet365, Mi Casino, and Sportingbet.
5. Subtel said the ISPs must add the 37 addresses to their blocking systems and then prove compliance before the Santiago Court of Appeals.
