Trump Jr. fund to invest about $300 million in Polymarket as UK regulator suspends BresBet and Bet St George licenses

Several gambling and prediction-market updates landed at once: a Trump Jr.-linked fund is set to put about $300 million into Polymarket, the UK regulator has paused two betting licenses, and Brazilian authorities searched a Flutter subsidiary over money-laundering suspicions. For high-risk PSPs, the common thread is simple: counterparties, licensing, and ad or compliance controls can change faster than the revenue forecast.

1. Donald Trump Jr.’s investment fund will invest about $300 million in Polymarket. For payment providers, that keeps Polymarket in the same conversation as other high-profile prediction-market and gambling-adjacent businesses that attract capital even while regulatory scrutiny remains part of the package.
2. From 1 September, Russian bookmakers began placing gambling-addiction warnings and blocks with information about financial services on their homepages. That is a direct front-end compliance change, and one PSPs and operators will need to reflect in site design and user flows if they serve the market.
3. In Brazil, authorities conducted searches at a Flutter subsidiary on suspicion of money laundering. When a local unit is searched, the payment angle is usually the first thing operators and acquiring partners review: transaction monitoring, source-of-funds checks, and whether any processing relationships need to be reassessed.

6. In Indonesia, 13 officials from the Ministry of Agriculture were dismissed for taking part in gambling. The immediate relevance for industry operators is less about the personnel story and more about how aggressively the state is treating gambling-related conduct in the local environment.
7. The Dutch gambling association plans to sue Meta over advertising for illegal gambling. For operators and PSPs, that is another reminder that ad distribution and payment access are now linked problems: once a channel is under attack, downstream onboarding and monitoring usually get tighter too.
