Amazonas Civil Police targets two men accused of recruiting influencers for “Jogo do Tigrinho” in Roraima
The Amazonas Civil Police executed search and seizure warrants on Wednesday, October 21, against two men suspected of recruiting digital influencers to promote illegal gambling platforms on social media. For high-risk payment providers, the point is straightforward: the case sits at the intersection of affiliate-style acquisition, social media distribution, and alleged online gambling fraud.
- The targets were influencer Alexsandro Souza de Carvalho, 31, known as “Allex Carvalho,” and Magnos Ramon Santos Marques, 32. The searches took place in the Caimbé and Treze de Setembro neighborhoods in Boa Vista, the capital of Roraima.
- The operation is part of the second phase of Operation Mantus and was followed by G1 Roraima. The first phase, launched on April 27, 2026, led to the arrest of eight people, including seven digital influencers from Roraima who publicly displayed luxury goods on social media.
- During the searches, police seized mobile phones and electronic equipment from the suspects’ residences. The material will undergo forensic review to identify other possible participants in the scheme.
- The court also ordered the suspension of Alexsandro’s Instagram profile. He had 30,2 thousand followers and posted content about humor, politics, and everyday life. The measure was intended to stop the promotion of illegal betting platforms.
- According to Eduardo Patrício, a delegate with the Special Cybercrime Repression Division (DERCC), the two suspects were not only promoting gambling but also recruiting new influencers to expand the scheme. Investigators said the group used demo accounts programmed by the platforms to always show wins, creating the appearance of easy profits and misleading followers.
On September 4, 2026, the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Roraima indicted ten people connected to the scheme. Prosecutors said the group moved R$ 67,5 million over roughly two years and charged the defendants with illegal gambling, money laundering, criminal association, and fraud.
