Wynn Al Marjan Island in the UAE is set to open in September 2027

Wynn Resorts has given its most specific opening date yet for Wynn Al Marjan Island in the United Arab Emirates: September 2027. For high-risk payments teams, the important part is not the hotel inventory; it is that the project is moving from construction story to regulated gaming launch story.

1. Wynn disclosed the timing while reporting second-quarter 2026 results. Craig Billings, Wynn Resorts’ CEO, said the company is still investing in growth and that construction is moving at a fast pace. He called the project the most important integrated resort development built in more than a decade.
2. The company contributed $48.1 million in the second quarter to the joint venture developing the UAE project, in which Wynn holds a 40% stake. That brings Wynn’s total cash investment to $1.060 billion. The partners are Wynn Resorts, Marjan, and RAK Hospitality Holding.
3. Wynn Al Marjan Island is being built on Al Marjan Island at an estimated cost of $5.1 billion. When completed, it is expected to be one of the largest integrated resort properties in the UAE and Wynn Resorts’ first beachfront property anywhere in the world.
4. The property is planned to include 1,530 rooms, suites and residences, including 297 Enclave suites, two Royal apartments, four garden townhouses, and 10 Marina Estates homes. It will also have 22 restaurants, lounges and bars, 12 pools, a 900-seat theater, and a 145,000-square-foot convention center.

On the gaming side, the project will include regulated gaming facilities after becoming the first development to receive a commercial gaming license from the UAE’s General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority. That makes the opening timeline relevant well beyond hospitality: it marks the point where a new regulated gaming venue in the UAE moves toward live payment flows, merchant onboarding, and jurisdiction-specific compliance work.

Construction is now in its final stage. The main tower has already reached its full height, while work has shifted to the façade, interior fit-out, and mechanical systems. Wynn is also building the 548-meter Wynn Bridge, which will connect the resort to highways E311 and E611, and Oasis, a community for more than 7,000 resort employees, which is expected to be ready before opening.
