Binance will stop trading 22 tokens and restrict eight services in Brazil

Binance is tightening access for Brazilian customers as it shifts to servicing the market through local legal entities. The changes matter for high-risk operators because they affect crypto lending, margin, mining, token distribution products, and payment reporting in one of the clearest cases of a global exchange localizing its setup for a single country.

  1. Binance said the restrictions will affect Binance Loans, Binance Pool, Cloud Mining, and margin trading, along with Launchpool, Megadrop, HODLer Airdrops, and Alpha 2.0. In other words, this is not just a trading venue adjustment; it reaches into the parts of the platform that generate yield, token access, and credit exposure.
  2. Customers with active crypto loans will be able to repay their debt without additional penalties, according to the announcement. Open margin positions may remain in place, but users will no longer be able to add funds, place new orders, or take out additional loans. Binance did not say when the remaining positions will have to be closed.
  3. Trading for 22 tokens will stop for Brazilian users on 27 October: XVG, USDE, USTC, DCR, DUSK, PIVX, BB, MANTRA, ONE, GMT, TFUEL, ZIL, ONT, RVN, ACX, HIT, PYR, VANRY, VIC, ICX, SCRT and STORJ. Users will still be able to keep these coins in their accounts, withdraw them to other wallets, or move them into available investment products on the exchange.
  4. Binance said the restrictions are tied to a transition to serving Brazilian clients through local legal entities. By 29 October, customers are expected to receive individual payment accounts at Binance Brasil Corretora de Câmbio e Valores Mobiliários. That entity will handle operations in Brazilian reais, while crypto services will move to BBrasil Sociedade Prestadora de Serviços de Ativos Virtuais.
  5. From 1 November, international crypto transfers will also come with new reporting requirements. Local customers will need to specify the payment purpose and provide sender or recipient details, and Binance must send that information monthly to the Central Bank of Brazil.

This is a useful reminder that for exchanges and PSPs, localization is not just about licensing labels. It can mean separate legal entities, local fiat rails, tighter transfer data collection, and product-level restrictions that hit credit, mining, and distribution programs at the same time.
