Vorcaro777 illegal betting site used a company opened in the name of a Bolsa Família beneficiary and processed payments through Sants SCD

Vorcaro777 illegal betting site used a company opened in the name of a Bolsa Família beneficiary and processed payments through Sants SCD

An illegal betting site using the name and image of Banco Master banker Daniel Vorcaro went live through a company registered in the name of a Bolsa Família and Gás do Povo beneficiary. The payments chain matters here: Estadão says transactions for Vorcaro777 were routed through Sants SCD, a payment institution authorized by Banco Central.

  1. The company used as a front, Flexpix Serviços Digitais, is registered in Bela Vista do Paraíso, in Paraná, but is listed in the name of a woman from Baixada Fluminense, in Rio de Janeiro. She told reporters by phone that she does not own any company and that her name was used without authorization.
  2. Vorcaro777 accepts bets on the result of Brazil’s presidential elections, a type of wager banned even for betting operators authorized by the Ministry of Finance. The site also offers casino-style games such as tigrinho and aviãozinho, two staples of the Brazilian gray market for online gambling.
  3. Daniel Vorcaro’s defense said it did not know the site and that the banker’s name was being used improperly. The Ministry of Finance said that “the appropriate measures are being taken.”
  4. The site is registered abroad and its creation date is Tuesday (6/10). The report also links Sants SCD to Krosley Cândido dos Santos, a former partner of Glaidson Acácio dos Santos, the “faraó dos bitcoins,” who was sentenced to 19 years in prison.
  5. After being contacted by Estadão, Sants SCD said it had immediately ended its relationship with Flexpix. In its statement, the institution said it “does not condone illegal betting or any irregular activity” and described Flexpix as “a payment gateway” that had contracted its infrastructure “to serve its own users and commercial establishments.”

Sants also said its role was limited to “payment account services and transaction processing,” and that the former client “acts autonomously, at its own risk.” It added that “even after the relationship has ended, the mentioned platform remains in operation, with payments directed to various companies, without Sants SCD’s intermediation.”

One more detail for anyone mapping exposure: Lula announced the total ban on betting sites on September 25, nine days before the first round of the elections, and the MP came a year and a half after Brazil’s formal betting market began operating under Ministry of Finance regulation.
