SBC Summit adds a Compliance Tech track to its 2026 agenda in Lisbon

SBC Summit adds a Compliance Tech track to its 2026 agenda in Lisbon

SBC Summit will dedicate a full conference track to the technology operators use to detect threats, fight fraud, and keep compliance teams out of trouble. For PSPs and high-risk merchants, the useful part is simple: the agenda is focused on the practical overlap between fraud controls, regulatory obligations, and cybersecurity, not on theory.

  1. On Thursday, 1 October 2026, at the Feira Internacional de Lisboa, the new Compliance Tech track will bring together operators, technology specialists, compliance and legal experts, and leaders in fraud, risk, and cybersecurity. The track sits within the dedicated Regulation & Compliance stage.
  2. The stage will also include Global Regulations on Tuesday, 29 September, and Player Protection on Wednesday, 30 September. In other words, SBC is building a three-day compliance block rather than scattering these topics across the wider event.
  3. Across the day, sessions will cover fraud prevention, how operators can combat illegal activity when entering new markets, the impact of EUDI Wallets and digital identity, and the growing relationship between regulation and cybersecurity. That combination matters for high-risk businesses because the same stack often has to serve KYC, fraud screening, and market-entry compliance at once.
  4. SBC Founder and CEO Rasmus Sojmark said technological advances are helping operators protect their businesses while also changing the nature of the threats they face. He added that “simply having more technology isn't enough” and that the track will examine where the industry should be focusing its attention.
  5. The opening session, More Players, Less Risk: Maximising Approvals in a Regulated World, will look at how operators can approve more legitimate customers without increasing fraud exposure. Speakers include Tom Orton of Rank Group, Tim De Borle of Casumo, Liesbeth Oost of JVH Gaming and Entertainment, and moderator Ana Pamplona of AMIG. The stated focus is reducing block rates and false positives while improving approval rates for legitimate customers.
  6. Another session, Bring on the New Markets: What Are the Compliance Challenges?, will examine how operators entering new markets can identify local criminal threats, deploy fraud prevention technology, and manage compliance across multiple jurisdictions. Speakers include Miguel Luis of LeBull, Sissel Weitzhandler of EGARA, Ian Perrygrove of Kwiff, Raymond Wilson of Midnite, and moderator Thees Buschman of Chevron Group.
  7. The track will also include a discussion on digital identity, EUDI Wallets & Digital Identity: A New Era for KYC or Just New Complexity?, with speakers including Andrea Carvalho of Entain and Yainnis Stavroulas of Novibet. For operators and payment teams, that is the kind of session where the KYC stack, identity tools, and compliance workflow usually end up in the same conversation whether anyone planned it that way or not.
