Kazakhstan’s Financial Monitoring Agency sends eight people to court over Nomadgames and Sultangames
Kazakhstan’s Financial Monitoring Agency (AFM) has sent a criminal case to court against eight people linked to the offshore iGaming products Nomadgames and Sultangames. For PSPs, the useful bit is not the headline number; it is the allegation that at least one suspect may have handled MCC codes and other pieces of payment infrastructure.
- According to the AFM, the case involves eight people connected to Nomadgames and Sultangames, which the agency describes as offshore iGaming products. Three of the defendants were released before trial on bail, two were placed under travel restrictions, and three were sent to pre-trial detention.
- The source says that one or more of the accused are allegedly bank employees who dealt with MCC codes and other payment infrastructure elements. If that allegation is part of the prosecution’s case, it points straight at the plumbing that high-risk operators depend on: descriptor routing, merchant classification, and the people inside the bank who can make those things work.
- The AFM also imposed arrests on 3 apartments, 6 cars, bank accounts, and crypto wallets. That tells you the authorities are not treating this as a paper exercise; they are moving against both fiat and crypto-linked assets at the same time.
