Kalshi faces $120,000-a-day penalty in Nevada after refusing to stop operating there

Kalshi has been ordered to pay $120,000 a day in Nevada after refusing to stop operating in the state at the regulator’s request. For high-risk PSPs, the point is not the headline number so much as the mechanism: when a regulator tells a venue or platform to shut down and it keeps going, the cash burn can become very real, very quickly.

  1. The penalty is set at $120,000 per day.
  2. Nevada is the jurisdiction involved, and the fine is tied to Kalshi’s refusal to cease operations there after the regulator asked it to stop.
  3. The update matters for high-risk payment providers because it shows how fast regulatory escalation can turn into a daily financial liability for a merchant or platform operating in a restricted state.
