Underdog adds crypto and stablecoin deposits through zerohash as IG deal heads toward 2026 or 2027 close

Prediction market operator Underdog is adding cryptocurrency and stablecoin deposits via zerohash, with the new funding option expected to go live later this year. For high-risk payment teams, the important bit is simple: another consumer-facing flow where digital assets are being used as a deposit rail, without pushing users into wallet management.

  1. Underdog said users will be able to fund their accounts directly in the app using supported digital assets, with near-instant transfers available around the clock. The company said the setup is designed so users do not need to manage wallet addresses or choose blockchain networks when depositing.
  2. The new option will sit alongside Underdog’s existing payment methods: debit and credit cards, Apple Pay and bank transfers. In other words, crypto is being added as an extra rail, not as a replacement for the usual card-and-bank stack.
  3. Underdog did not specify which cryptocurrencies or stablecoins will be supported, and it did not respond to Cointelegraph’s request for clarification before publication. That leaves the commercial structure clear enough, but the asset list still open.
  4. Founded in 2020, Underdog has more than 11 million registered accounts, according to IG Group, which agreed in July to acquire the company in a deal worth up to $1.3 billion. The transaction is expected to close in late 2026 or early 2027.
  5. According to DeFiRate data, Underdog recorded $1.4 billion in trading volume over the 30 days ending Oct. 21, up 133% from the prior period. That still trails Kalshi’s $81.5 billion and the combined $17.2 billion recorded by Polymarket’s US and international platforms.
