Oddsgate adds Angola’s KwanzaBet as it expands its African footprint

Oddsgate has integrated Angola’s KwanzaBet onto its platform, adding another regulated-market operator to its African lineup. For PSPs, acquirers, and banks watching high-risk growth markets, the relevant part is not the press-release perfume; it is that Angola is now explicitly moving through a licensing and compliance framework for online gaming and multi-channel betting.

  1. Oddsgate said the KwanzaBet integration extends its presence on the African continent and supports its focus on operators in regulated, emerging markets. The company framed the move as part of a deliberate strategy in Africa, where it says igaming is drawing attention because of a young population, high mobile penetration, and steadily maturing regulation.
  2. Angola’s gaming market is the immediate backdrop here. The country’s new gaming law, Lei nº 17/24, modernised the regulatory framework under the supervision of the ISJ, extending licensing to online gaming and multi-channel betting while introducing minimum capital requirements and anti-money laundering standards aligned with international norms.
  3. Oddsgate drew a parallel with Brazil’s transition between 2023 and 2025, when a fragmented market moved toward a regime that formally recognised digital and multi-channel operations. That comparison matters because it tells you how the company sees its operating model: not as a generic platform sale, but as infrastructure for markets shifting from informal or patchy rules to something more bankable.
  4. KwanzaBet is described as a locally rooted operator built around football, sport, and gaming culture, with roughly a year of market presence. Oddsgate said it values operators that are regulation-conscious and built for their own markets rather than adapted from a foreign template.
  5. Tiago Almeida, Oddsgate’s CEO, said the company has grown alongside Brazil through every stage of its path to regulation and now brings that experience to Angola. He added that Oddsgate’s B2B managed services in SEO, CRM, and more add an optimisation layer that turns local insights into measurable performance. Romilson Teixeira, KwanzaBet’s Sportsbook and Casino Manager, said the partnership is fundamental to its strategic development and long-term plan to build competitive advantage and differentiation.

For high-risk payment players, the useful signal is simple: Angola is being positioned as a regulated operating environment for online gaming and multi-channel betting, with capital and AML requirements now part of the picture. That usually changes what PSPs can justify, what banks will underwrite, and how much homework sits between “operator wants to launch” and “merchant is actually bankable.”
