Sumsub launches reusable KYC for MiniPay users across 70+ countries

Sumsub has introduced Reusable KYC Gateway at Token2049 Singapore, with MiniPay as the first live integrator. For PSPs and other regulated partners, the point is simple: one verified identity can now be reused across the ecosystem instead of forcing users through a fresh KYC loop every time they touch a new provider.

  1. MiniPay users can verify once and carry that status across regulated partners in its network. MiniPay does not need to hold, process, or manage sensitive personal information such as identity documents, while partners still run their own compliance rules and can request additional checks for higher-risk transactions.
  2. Gateway joins Reusable KYC Share as part of Sumsub’s broader Reusable KYC product range. The setup lets a user either reuse one of 15 million existing Sumsub IDs or complete a new check with an identity document and a selfie, then give explicit consent to link that identity to their MiniPay account.
  3. MiniPay is present in over 70 countries and has seen more than 20 million wallets opened so far. Because it is self-custodial, the wallet is not required to verify users directly; historically, its on and off ramps, card issuers, and payment providers each ran their own KYC checks.
  4. That old model meant the same user could be asked to upload documents and take a new selfie every time they used a different partner, even after confirming the same identity inside one ecosystem. In practice, that kind of repeated friction is where conversion dies and support tickets breed.
  5. Since the new flow was introduced, MiniPay partners have seen verification conversion rise from around 70% to 95%, and KYC completion times have been cut by as much as 50%. Eight MiniPay partners already rely on Sumsub for verification.

Andrew Novoselsky, chief product officer at Sumsub, said one in three applicants the company sees have already verified with it before. Murray Spark, senior director of business development at Opera, said self-custody in MiniPay now covers both funds and verified identity, which matters as the partner network expands across new markets.
