Kazakhstan’s AFM confirms Dmitry Punin and Marina Ilyina are wanted, with pre-trial detention ordered in absentia

Kazakhstan’s Agency for Financial Monitoring (AFM RK) has officially confirmed that Dmitry Punin and Marina Ilyina have been placed on the wanted list. For payment providers and operators in high-risk gaming, the important part is the regulator’s stated link: AFM RK says both are associated with the iGaming products Pinco and Pin-Up, which accepted players from Kazakhstan (KZ).

  1. AFM RK said today that the search notices for Dmitry Punin and Marina Ilyina are now official. The agency also stated that each of them has had a preventive measure chosen in absentia: detention in custody.
  2. According to AFM RK, the two are tied to the Pinco and Pin-Up iGaming products. The key operational detail for PSPs is the stated player GEO: KZ, which puts the matter squarely in the Kazakhstan market rather than in some vague offshore bucket.
  3. The announcement matters because when a financial monitoring agency publicly connects named individuals to gaming products serving a specific jurisdiction, downstream payment relationships get harder to defend. Banks, acquirers, and PSPs generally do not treat this kind of notice as background noise.
