Who is Tadeu Dantas, the betting partner linked to Flamengo and arrested in a PF operation

Diomar Tadeu Dantas de Farias, known as Tadeu Dantas, was arrested in the second phase of a Polícia Federal investigation into PixBet. For high-risk payment players, the useful part is not the family drama; it is that the case sits exactly where sponsors, betting operators, and cross-border payment flows tend to get messy.

1. Tadeu is a cousin of Ernildo Júnior, the owner of PixBet, and is originally from Serra Branca, in the Cariri region of Paraíba. He also works in the vaquejadas business, which matters because PixBet’s footprint goes beyond sportsbook sponsorships and into local event and entertainment assets.
2. PixBet is under investigation by the Polícia Federal on suspicion of money laundering and capital flight. In the first phase of the operation, search-and-seizure warrants were executed in five states, including Paraíba, and the court ordered bank and telematic secrecy breaches plus the seizure of up to R$ 1.1 billion in assets.
3. According to the investigation, the company issued invoices for services that were not actually performed. The alleged mechanism was straightforward: money came back into Brazil as payment for supposed services contracted abroad, giving the transfers the appearance of lawful origin.
4. PixBet has been a sponsor of Flamengo and Corinthians. Flamengo terminated its contract in August 2025 after expressing dissatisfaction with delayed installment payments; the expected transfer was R$ 125 million per season. Corinthians ended its relationship with the brand in 2024, after which PixBet demanded a R$ 20 million penalty, saying the contract included exclusivity in the sports betting segment.
5. In Paraíba, PixBet also backs Serra Branca Esporte Clube, which has a training center in Campina Grande and is building a stadium in Serra Branca. The club played in Série D of the Campeonato Brasileiro and the Copa do Brasil this year. PixBet also operates the Arena Vaquejada PixBet in Gurinhém, on the BR-230, on an area of about 600 hectares; in 2025, the main vaquejada prize there exceeded R$ 1.4 million.

Tadeu was arrested in Jacumã, in the southern coast of Paraíba, even though the warrant was issued to be served in Campina Grande. After the arrest, he was taken to Campina Grande. The defense had not responded by the time of the latest report.
