GiG powers Casino Time launch in Alberta as operator expands from Ontario
GiG Software Plc has powered Casino Time’s entry into Alberta’s newly regulated iGaming market, extending a partnership that already had a foothold in Ontario. For PSPs and operators, the detail that matters is simple: GiG is now running two live brands in Alberta, which is a useful signal on deployment speed in a province where the market is still taking shape.
- Casino Time is deploying GiG’s full end-to-end stack under the expanded partnership: Player Account Management (PAM), middleware, and a custom Front-End solution. GiG also points to its Casino vertical, real-time rules engine LogicX, and AI-driven data platform DataX as part of the setup.
- The launch is GiG’s second brand live in Alberta, and the company says the rollout builds on years of operations in Ontario. In practice, the pitch here is a familiar one for multi-jurisdiction operators: replicate what already works, avoid rebuilding technical infrastructure, and keep operational overhead from creeping up.
- GiG frames Alberta as a high-growth jurisdiction in North America’s regulated market, citing industry analyst estimates of €440m–€625m in annual gross gaming revenue (GGR) as the market matures. That is the kind of number that tends to attract operators first and payment providers right after them.
- The company says its technology stack is certified, licensed, or active across more than 31 regulated jurisdictions worldwide. Richard Carter, CEO of GiG, said the Casino Time expansion shows how the company supports “long-term, multi-jurisdiction growth” and can move partners into new markets without duplicating the same technical build each time.
For high-risk payment teams, the signal is not just that Alberta is open; it is that operators are already moving from single-province presence to multi-province rollout, which usually means more pressure on onboarding, compliance workflows, and settlement consistency across jurisdictions.
