INEX partners with Avalanche to pilot stablecoin payments in Korea
Payments High Risk

INEX has signed a business agreement with Ava Labs, the developer of Avalanche, to build stablecoin-based payment and settlement infrastructure in Korea. For PSPs and acquiring teams, the interesting part is not the blockchain branding; it is the attempt to plug a stablecoin rail into domestic payment gateways and VAN infrastructure without breaking local regulatory rules.
Under the agreement signed on the 16th, Ava Labs will provide technical consulting and infrastructure support, including blockchain network and wallet infrastructure, software tools, and global marketing support. INEX will be responsible for building a payment model that complies with domestic financial regulations and for connecting the Avalanche mainnet to major domestic payment gateways and value-added networks (VAN).
The two companies say they will use the deal to pilot stablecoin payments in both online and offline environments. The stated goal is to build a regulatory-friendly, stable payment infrastructure and to show how stablecoins can be used in the real economy, rather than only as a trading or treasury instrument.
INEX has recently expanded its cooperation network with a separate joint agreement to build a stablecoin-based payment solution with Korea Payment Networks (KPN), described as the country's largest electronic payment (PG) and VAN infrastructure corporation. That matters because the practical bottleneck in these projects is usually not issuing a token; it is getting it to sit inside existing merchant payment rails.
Ava Labs has also recently partnered with the Singapore payment service StraitsX and unveiled the "Frontier Stable Token (FRNT)" in Wyoming, United States. In other words, this is part of a broader push into payments, not a one-off Korea experiment.
An INEX official said the company will work closely with regulators so that stablecoin payments can become "the new standard" in domestic and international payment markets. For operators, that is the real test: whether the model can survive contact with licensing, settlement, and scheme-level compliance, not just a demo environment.
