Last week’s most interesting payments and crypto enforcement stories: hacked mobile wallets, Belarus crypto rails, a Curacao casino network, Ukraine gambling checks, and Kazakhstan platform bans

The common thread here is not “crypto drama,” but payment rails under pressure: mobile wallet security, cash-out routes, offshore casino processing, and regulators deciding where the line sits between normal activity and suspicious flows. For PSPs and acquirers, each of these stories maps to a different kind of risk review.

  1. Casino streamers reportedly lost almost $80,000 after a series of hacks of mobile crypto wallets. Greenbratukha lost about 40k USDT, Maria Dorvey lost more than $16k, and one subscriber of an arbitrage trader lost another 23,8k USDT. An iPhone exploit is under suspicion, but the cause of the breaches has not been established.
  2. Russian banks have started cracking down on crypto arbitrage using the “USDT — cash” scheme. Transfers to Belarusian crypto exchanges have begun to be blocked, the Central Bank has pointed to money laundering risks, and illegal crypto transactions can carry fines of up to 40% of the deal amount.
  3. A network of 17 online casinos was found operating under a single offshore banner, GALAKTIKA N.V. Brands including Legzo, 1GO, Fresh, and Sol were linked to an operator in Curaçao, and their payment chains included anonymous processing, P2P details, and intermediaries from several countries.
  4. Ukraine has tightened the criteria for identifying suspicious gambling transactions. The list now includes multiple accounts, nominee cards, deposits from third-party accounts, and withdrawals without real play. Even matching IP addresses and devices can trigger scrutiny.
  5. Kazakhstan has banned six crypto platforms from operating without a license, including HTX, BingX, and Coinbase. A court restricted the provision and advertising of their services, and the exchanges’ apps may become unavailable through Google Play and App Store.

For high-risk payment teams, the useful part is the pattern: regulators and banks are not just looking at merchants anymore. They are looking at the whole flow — wallet security, source of funds, cash-out behavior, affiliate-style arbitrage, offshore processing stacks, and app distribution channels.
