SBC Summit adds a crypto and blockchain conference track for Lisbon on 1 October 2026

SBC Summit will put digital assets under the microscope with a dedicated crypto and blockchain section at its Payments Expert Summit stage in Lisbon. For high-risk operators and PSPs, the interesting part is not the buzzword count; it is the mix of payments, compliance, and customer acquisition questions that comes with any attempt to put crypto rails into a regulated gambling stack.

  1. The dedicated crypto and blockchain program will take place on Thursday 1 October 2026 at Feira Internacional de Lisboa, bringing together operators, payment leaders, fintech specialists, blockchain professionals, and Web3 experts.
  2. The track sits within the Payments Expert Summit, alongside Fintech on Tuesday 29 September and Global Payments Compliance on Wednesday 30 September. In other words, SBC is treating crypto as a payments and compliance topic, not as a separate hobbyist side note.
  3. Sessions will focus on how operators can integrate crypto payments safely, which technologies can make transactions faster and more secure, and what the wider industry can learn from crypto brands on acquisition, engagement, and retention.
  4. Rasmus Sojmark, founder and CEO of SBC, said the conversation has moved from what crypto and blockchain might enable to where the technology actually works in practice. He also flagged the obvious catch: faster payments and new engagement models bring compliance, security, and regulation issues that operators cannot ignore.
  5. The opening session, “Blockchain Banking for Gaming Operators”, will examine how regulated operators can integrate crypto and stablecoins into their payment ecosystems while meeting AML (anti-money laundering), transaction monitoring, security, and player trust requirements. Speakers listed include Lissele Pratt of Capitalixe, Domenico Roberto Paradisi of PressEnter Group, Ian Sherrington of Crownstar, Julian Goffin of Alunafi, Martha Brincat of the Malta Gaming Authority, and moderator Bruce Porter Jr. of GlobalBoost.

The next session, “Speed, security and conversion for crypto betting”, will look at the trade-off that always shows up when payments teams start talking about crypto: faster settlement and better conversion on one side, controls and regulatory safeguards on the other. That is the actual decision surface for operators and PSPs, not the slide deck version.
